Amnesty not to cover “extremists,” Łukašenka says

September 6, BPN. Amnesty may be granted only to those who really deserve it, not to “bandits” and “extremists,” Alaksandr Łukašenka said at a September 6 meeting with the officials.

“There are different people among those convicted, including those who have committed crimes by accident, negligence, as well as minor crimes, including acts of protest,” he was quoted by Pul Pervogo, an unofficial Telegram channel of his press office. “Over the past two years, everyone has become wiser. If they repented, got on the path of correction and fully repaid the guilt, they can be treated with mercy.”
