Content of regional sustainability initiative, oil industry workers’ channels declared “extremist”
September 11, BPN. The Haradok District Court in the Viciebsk region has branded the content of the Telegram channel Naftan Protiv Ekstremizma (Naftan Against Extremism) with 266 subscribers as “extremist,” while the information ministry has added a corresponding entry to its black list.
The channel reports instances of harassment of workers at the Naftan oil refinery and political and economic news from the city of Navapołack.
The same court also blacklisted the Vkontakte account of Marharyta Ziańkova. The page has been deleted.
On September 5, a court in Brest found extremist content on the website Vektor Nashego Goroda and its Telegram channel Vektor Novosti with 166 subscribers. Both are run by regional sustainability and local self-government activists.
On September 6, the court of the Lida District, Hrodna region, blacklisted the Telegram channel Narodny Autainspektar Info with 223 subscribers. It collects data on vocal supporters of Alaksandr Łukašenka’s regime and their cars.
