Belarusian police arrest Lithuanian woman for protests

November 1, BPN. Police in Minsk have arrested a Lithuanian national for “extremism,” pro-government Telegram channels report.

On a video they shared, the detained woman says she is a foreigner working as a school teacher. She adds that “she went to post-election protests twice and read destructive channels.”

The Viasna Human Rights Center identified her as Alena Cymbalist, 58, a teacher at Minsk’s School No 173.
