Ukrainian intelligence: diseases rampant among Russian draftees in Belarus

November 7, BPN. Large-scale outbreaks of various diseases have been recorded among the Russian draftees arriving in Belarus, the Ukrainian defense ministry’s intelligence department reported.

It listed respiratory diseases and gastrointestinal infections as the most common ones.

Allegedly, the draftees live in poor conditions, mostly in field tents without proper sanitary measures, suffering from the lack of hygiene, quality food, and medical care.

“The occupiers are forced to urgently send military and drafted [civilian] doctors from Russia to Belarus,” because Belarusian doctors “are not coping” with this number of sick people, Ukraine’s intelligence added.

Ukraine also noted “growing tension” between Belarusian and Russian soldiers due to the Russians’ “disdainful attitude towards Belarusians.”

Belarusian military authorities are allegedly unable to restrain Russians and the number of incidents keeps rising.

On October 10, Alaksandr Łukašenka announced that Belarus and Russia would deploy a joint regional group in response to “a build-up on the Union state’s western borders.” Russian soldiers have been transported to Belarus since October 15.

Earlier, the Belarusian ruler admitted that Belarus participated in Russia’s war on Ukraine, but said it was “not killing anyone.”

The Ukrainian military command called on Belarusians not to follow any possible orders to enter Ukraine to avoid responsibility for war crimes already committed by the Russian army.
