Almost 4,000 foreigners granted Belarusian citizenship in 2022 – interior ministry
November 8, BPN. Belarusian authorities approved 3,997 applications for Belarusian citizenship since the start of 2022, said Alaksiej Biahun, the interior ministry’s top migration official.
The approval rate stands at 98 percent, he added, while most of the applications (69 percent) were filed by Ukrainians.
In August 2021, Alaksandr Łukašenka instructed officials to simplify the procedures of obtaining citizenship and residence permits for Ukrainian nationals.
