Food industry giant expects $8bn in export profits in 2022

November 9, BPN. The Belarusian food industry has become export-oriented, and rising world prices contribute to the demand for its products, Ihar Hruco, a senior manager at the Biełdziaržcharčpram group of companies, has told reporters in Minsk.

“Over the past eight to nine months, exports have increased by more than 25 percent, as compared with last year,” he said. “By the end of the year, we expect to receive at least $8 billion in profits from agricultural and food exports.”

Hruco said the state-run food industry group cooperates with countries in Asia and tries to “enter every region of Russia.”

He added that even the West has not rejected imports from Belarus. “Supplies continue. If our products are in demand and have a good price, why not sell them, attracting foreign currency to Belarus?” he said.
