Belarus unaffected by sanctions, economic blockades – agriculture minister

November 14, BPN. In 2022, Belarus sold $1.5 billion worth of goods more than in 2021 despite the Western sanctions, Minister of Agriculture Ihar Bryła told journalists.

“Why should we. . . always focus on Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland?” he said. “We have excellent relations with countries in Asia and Oceania, the [United] Arab Emirates, Pakistan, India. These are millions and billions of people! Our Belarusian products are in demand everywhere.”

Western suppliers of spare parts are looking for ways to transport them to Belarus, the official said.

“Not a single imported combine harvester stood idle in our fields, because all the Western companies in Lithuania and Poland want to work and cooperate,” he noted. “They have been living off this and have started looking for their own ways to bring in equipment via other countries. We have enough spare parts to repair imported equipment.”

Belarus has not stumbled on sanctions and economic blockades, he noted.
