Agriculture minister upbeat despite shrinking agro-industrial complex

November 14, BPN. Less than 300,000 people were employed in the agro-industrial sector in Belarus at the start of 2022, compared to one million 30 years ago, Minister of Agriculture Ihar Bryła told journalists.

He was confident in Belarusian agriculture, noting that downsizing is a worldwide trend caused by modernization.

“We would never have achieved high results in our lives if we had not been able to modernize our poultry and pork industries over the years,” he said. he noted that the sector was short of 2,000 workers.
