Łukašenka dissolves Chernobyl department

November 14, BPN. Alaksandr Łukašenka has signed a decree dissolving the emergency ministry’s department dealing with the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.

The tasks and functions of the department and its subdivisions have been transferred to the emergency ministry’s nuclear safety unit, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Bełlehpram light industry conglomerate, as well the executive authorities in the Homiel and Mahiloŭ regions, the most affected Belarusian territories by the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.
