Belarusian companies opening in EU overwhelmingly choose Poland – business association
November 15, BPN. At least 2,100 companies with Belarusian capital have been registered in the European Union after August 2020, Sierž Naŭrodski of the Association of Belarusian Business Abroad (ABBA) has told a business forum in Warsaw.
Of them, 80 percent opened in Poland, and 10 percent in Lithuania, he said. The vast majority of emigrating companies are small service businesses, he added.
An ABBA survey indicates that 18 percent of entrepreneurs who have emerged in the EU have never had a business in Belarus, 35 percent have closed a business in their homeland, and 47 percent have kept it.
ABBA was established in August 2021 and is headed by Jaŭhien Bury, a former member of the Belarusian Security Council’s state secretariat.
