Cichanoŭskaja slams “shameful agreements with the Kremlin”
December 3, BPN. Belarusian opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja has criticized the amending of the legal framework for military cooperation between Belarus and Russia, signed by their defense ministers in Minsk on December 3.
“Today Łukašenka’s regime again signed shameful agreements with the Kremlin. Belarusian sovereignty is being handed over to RU. But all deals signed by the unlawful regime are illegal. We will do everything to prevent the involvement of Belarusian troops in the war and to help UA,” she tweeted.
Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu arrived in Belarus on the evening of November 3. He and his Belarusian counterpart Viktar Chrenin signed a protocol amending the 1997 agreement “on joint provision of regional security in the military sphere.” The amendments are yet to be revealed.
After the talks with Chrenin, Shoigu met with Alaksandr Łukašenka.
