Courts deliver at least 89 politically-motivated sentences in November

December 5, BPN. Belarusian courts delivered at least 89 politically-motivated sentences in November 2022, the Viasna human rights center reported. Twenty-three of those sentenced were women.

Judges handed a total of 213.25 years of imprisonment to 62 people; 56 years of restricted freedom in home confinement to 23 people; six years of restricted freedom in open-type correctional facilities to three people; six months’ probation to one person.

On top of the main sentences, nine people were ordered to pay a total of 38,400 rubels (some $15,600) in fines.
