Łukašenka suggests retired law enforcers be allowed to keep rented housing
December 6, BPN. Alaksandr Łukašenka has suggested that retired law enforcers should be allowed to buy out cheaply the housing that they rent from the state during service.
“The state should say in advance: we will give this person his apartment or house for free after 25 years (when he leaves the service, retires or has some other objective reasons), or he has to pay three percent, or its residual value,” the Belarusian leader’s press office quoted him as saying at a government conference.
He noted, however, that the government must take into account budgetary constraints before approving any housing subsidies.
