Some 23,000 Belarusians get Lithuanian residence permits in January-November

December 6, BPN. The Lithuanian interior ministry’s migration department has said that 22,890 Belarusians received temporary residence permits in from January to November 2022. The number of permits issued rose from 15,318 in the same period last year.

A total of 5,127 Belarusians had their permits renewed in that period, which is close to the 2021 figure of 5,232. Lithuania issued 19,641 national visas to Belarusians in 2022, and 21,360 one year earlier.

The Eastern Europe Studies Center said some 40,000 Belarusians were staying in Lithuania in November 2022. Almost 70 percent of them had left Belarus for political reasons.
