December 13, BPN. Alaksandr Łukašenka has appointed Col. Andrej Łukjanovič as commander of the Belarusian Air/Air Defense Forces, the presidential press office reports.
“You are appointed commander of the Air/Air Defense Forces, where the situation is not easy,” Łukašenka told Łukjanovič in Minsk.
Previously, he served as deputy commander and chief of aviation. A renowned sniper pilot, he had headed the 50th Mixed Air Base near Minsk for more than 10 years.
