Media analysts identify key propaganda narratives

December 14, BPN. State propaganda imposed four key narratives on Belarusians in January-October 2022, a Media IQ study found.

One, Belarus is a well-functioning state. Two, it faces external threats and damaging influence, the media said, according to the study. The West was portrayed in a negative light, and citizens were urged to save and protect their homeland.

Media analysts also summed up the overall picture painted by the state media: Belarus is Russia’s western outpost and a stronghold of Christian values, which remembers who won World War II. The “neo-Nazi” western states are envious at its success and want to enslave her, but their governments will eventually be overthrown by people as irrelevant.
