Putin to visit Belarusian capital on December 19
December 16, BPN. Russian President Vladimir Putin is planning to visit Minsk on December 19, Alaksandr Łukašenka’s press office reports.
It says that “high-level talks” will be held one-on-one and with delegations at the Independence Palace.
There are plans to discuss “the whole range of the most pressing issues of Belarusian-Russian integration,” the press office said. The agenda includes issues of “trade and economic cooperation and joint cooperation projects with an emphasis on import substitution,” it added. It named “cooperation in the energy sector” an “important topic” of the talks.
Łukašenka and Putin will also “give priority” to security issues, “exchange views on the situation in the region and the world, and discuss joint measures to respond to emerging challenges,” it said. After the talks, the two leaders are expected to make statements to the media.
