Łukašenka to solve integration problems at talks with Putin

December 16, BPN. Alaksandr Łukašenka has told officials in Minsk that during his upcoming talks with Vladimir Putin he is planning to tackle issues hampering the progress of 28 integration programs.

“President Putin and I approved these programs and instructed our governments, ministers and experts to act within their framework,” Łukašenka said, as quoted by his press office.

“I am told that about 60 percent of all measures from these programs have been implemented. That’s not a bad rate. But in implementing these or those programs, our governments have faced issues that they cannot resolve,” he added.

Putin and Łukašenka approved the 28 Union State programs on November 4, 2021. They focus on macroeconomic, industrial and agricultural policies, tax and customs legislation and a common gas market, among other things.

The Russian president is planning to visit Minsk on December 19, Łukašenka’s press office reported.
