Industrial production down 5.6 percent
December 18, BPN. Belarus’ industrial output contracted by 5.6 percent in January-November 2022 against the same period in 2021.
“Industrial production amounted to 154.4 billion rubels at current prices [some $60.4bn],” statistics committee Belstat said on December 16.
Previously, it said Belarus’ GDP contracted by 4.7 percent in the 11 months.
Fitch’s research and analysis arm, Fitch Solutions, forecasts that the Belarusian economy will shrink by 1.5 percent in 2023.
