Belarus’ strategic goal to become part of EU and NATO after regime falls – Kalinoŭski regiment

December 19, BPN. The Belarusian Kastuś Kalinoŭski volunteer regiment fighting Russia in Ukraine has approved its strategic goals, spokeswoman Kryścina Stankievič (call sign Čabor), told journalists.

“We believe that the natural reference point for Belarus is joining the European Union and becoming a part of NATO,” she said. “The European vector of Belarus’ development can be ensured only after the de-occupation of our country from the Russian troops and the dismantling of the internal dictatorial regime.”

Belarusian volunteers formed the Kalinoŭski regiment in Ukraine in March 2022, initially as a battalion. Currently, it consists of three battalions. Its stated mission is to liberate Belarus by defending Ukraine.

Belarusian authorities have opened criminal cases against its members.
