Łukašenka, Putin say agree on gas price, give no specifics
December 19, BPN. Alaksandr Łukašenka and Vladimir Putin have told a press conference in Minsk that they have agreed on Russian energy prices for Belarus.
“We are satisfied with the results of the overall discussion of the single gas market’s concept and pricing for the next three years, as the president has just told me one-on-one. The governments will give you more details,” Łukašenka said.
He called the agreed gas price beneficial for Belarus.
“We discussed pricing parameters in the energy sector. I think that now that Alaksandr Ryhoravič and I talked face to face, we will assume that all the main parameters, including sensitive ones, for pricing in the energy sector have been agreed,” Putin said.
The Russian leader stressed that oil and gas are supplied to Belarus “on very favorable and preferential terms” and seriously support the Belarusian economy.
Łukašenka and Putin did not say exactly how much Minsk will pay for Russian energy in 2023.
This year, gas costs $128 per 1,000 cubic meters.
