Investigators submit Nexta case to prosecutors for charging decision
December 21, BPN. Belarusian investigators have referred a special procedure case against the Nexta media project founder, Ściapan Puciła, and a member of his team, Jan Rudzik, to the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The journalists are suspected of inciting social hatred, organizing mass riots, conspiring to seize power and other crimes, the Investigative Committee said. The case was opened on December 9.
Previously, the committee said that Puciła used the Nexta channel on the Telegram messenger application to coordinate protests in Belarus. It described the peaceful post-election protests as extremist and terrorist activities.
Special procedure means that a judge is likely to try the two in absentia to annul their passports.
