December 22, BPN. Vegetables rose markedly in November 2022 (up 17 percent from October), the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade said in a report.
“Tomatoes increased in price by 22.9 percent over the month; peppers, by 37.7 percent; cucumbers, by 40.4 percent,” it said.
The rise occurred a month after Alaksandr Łukašenka had instructed the government to freeze consumer prices in a bid to curb galloping inflation. The Belarusian ruler banned any price increases without approval by local authorities.
