Cost of vegetables soars by 17 percent in November

December 22, BPN. Vegetables rose markedly in November 2022 (up 17 percent from October), the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade said in a report.

“Tomatoes increased in price by 22.9 percent over the month; peppers, by 37.7 percent; cucumbers, by 40.4 percent,” it said.

The rise occurred a month after Alaksandr Łukašenka had instructed the government to freeze consumer prices in a bid to curb galloping inflation. The Belarusian ruler banned any price increases without approval by local authorities.
