Journalist gets prison term on extremism charges

December 26, BPN. The Minsk City Court has sentenced cameraman and photographer Ivan Muraŭjoŭ to two and a half years in prison, the Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ) reported.

Muraŭjoŭ, who also owns a bar in central Minsk, was arrested in August 2020 and released later.

On September 1, the Investigative Committee arrested Muraŭjoŭ again. It accused him of association with an extremist group. No further details of his case are available.
