CSTO secretary general, CIS counterterrorism official discuss joint drills

December 26, BPN. Stanisłaŭ Zaś, secretary general of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and CIS Anti-Terrorism Center head Yevgeniy Sysoyev have met in Moscow to sum the year in counterterrorism and make plans for 2023.

The officials discussed the participation of both bodies in joint drills involving special law-enforcement units and secret services, the CSTO press office said.

Zaś also met with the CIS border troops’ coordinating official Aleksandr Manilov. They outlined activities to implement a protocol on cooperation between the troops and the CSTO secretariat in 2023.

The Commonwealth of Independent States established the Anti-Terrorist Center in 2000 to coordinate counterterrorism agencies of the member states.
