December 28, BPN. The Warsaw-based Center for Belarusian Solidarity (CBS) has documented frequent denials of humanitarian visas to Belarusians submitting their applications in Poland, lawyer Maryna Hryščanka has told reporters.
“When a person receives a refusal notice, he doesn’t even know the reason. Most often, it’s the suspicion that the visa will not be used for its intended purpose,” she said.
If someone travels to Belarus, she can be denied a visa upon return to Poland, the CBS said.
Hryščanka advised unsuccessful applicants to re-apply to the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If it says “no,” the decision would be impossible to challenge.
