Law enforcers arrest 100 Ballov education center’s co-founder

January 3, BPN. Police in Belarus have arrested Alaksiej Ivanoŭ, a co-founder of the 100 Ballov education center.

In a video published by a pro-government Telegram channel, the man says that he participated in an unauthorized rally together with 100 Ballov co-founder Jaŭhien Liviant.

Previously, police-linked media reported that Liviant’s daughter and son-in-law were arrested after their return from Poland on charges of protesting. His wife was arrested too, Zerkalo.io reported.

Reports of Liviant’s arrest were published on December 28. Law enforcers forced him to reveal his annual income, real estate and other properties.

In a police-released video, the renowned educator said that he was invited to participate in the Coordinating Council for Political Crisis Settlement in Belarus in 2020. “I attended one meeting of the Coordinating Council, on August 20 or 21 in 2020,” he said.

Liviant added that during post-election protests he “went to the roadway, blocking the movement of vehicles.”

Radio Liberty reported that Jaŭhien Liviant was sentenced to 14 days in jail; his wife Julija, to 15 days; his daughter Hanna, to 14 days; Ivanoŭ, to 14 days.
