Małady Front Chairman Urbanovič wounded again in Ukraine
January 6, BPN. Dzianis Urbanovič, a Belarusian volunteer fighter of the Kastuś Kalinoŭski regiment, was wounded again in Ukraine on January 4, his friend told BPN.
A bullet hit him in the chest during a heavy battle with Russian forces near Bakhmut. He was successfully operated on the same day, the source said, adding that he will be taken to Kyiv for treatment on January 6.
Urbanovič, leader of Małady Front since 2018, had just recovered from an arm wound he received in November.
In June 2020 and March-April 2021, he served several 15-day jail terms in Belarus in connection with his political activities. In August 2021, Urbanovič was arrested in Naroŭla, Homiel region, on suspicion that he had staged protests in Mazyr in August 2020.
Urbanovič fled to Ukraine in 2021 to join the Kastuś Kalinoŭski regiment. In May 2022, he was severely concussed.
In August 2022, authorities designated Małady Front as an extremist group.
