January 13, BPN. Alaksandr Łukašenka promoted Maj. Gen. Alaksandr Bas from deputy commander of the Western Operational Command to head of the Belarusian Armed Forces’ main combat training directorate on January 12.
Bas was born on August 17, 1971 in the Brest region’s Stolin district. He graduated from the Higher Tank Commander School in Chelyabinsk, Russia, in 1992.
After graduating from the Command Staff Faculty of Belarus’ Military Academy in 2002, he served as head of intelligence at the headquarters of the Special Operations Forces’ 38th separate guards mobile brigade, head of intelligence at the Ground Forces’ Main Headquarters, and in other roles.
