Brest region introduces fee for crossing border by car

January 15, BPN. The Brest region has introduced a $14 fee for crossing the state border by car. The measure will come into effect on February 1, the National Legal Internet Portal reported. Similar decisions had been taken by lawmakers in the Viciebsk and Hrodna regions.

There are exceptions, however, and Belarusian officials traveling for business purposes, state-invited guests and some other types of travelers would not have to pay.

The fee would be effective until January 1, 2025.
