Foreign minister discusses politics, trade with Saudi Arabia

January 24, BPN. On January 23, Belarusian Foreign Minister Siarhiej Alejnik received a phone call from Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, his counterpart from Saudi Arabia, the foreign ministry’s press office reported.

The foreign ministers discussed political and economic matters, bilateral cooperation, and the development of the Belarusian-Saudi dialogue, it noted.

No data is available on economic cooperation between the two countries for 2022. In 2021, trade between Belarus and Saudi Arabia amounted to $42.3 million, falling by 26.4 percent from the 2020 level.

Belarusian exports of goods (mainly milk powder, electrical machinery, textiles, and clothing), amounted to $6.1 million and of services (financial, transport and IT), to $1.52 million.
