“By working together, I believe we can address the immediate challenges facing the university and solidify EHU’s status as a top institution for scholarship and civic involvement in Belarus and the wider region,” he added.
The new rector “will advance EHU’s unique role in supporting the academic aspirations and professional development of young Belarusians,” Ludmiła Uljašyna, head of the EHU Senate, stressed.
He will also facilitate cooperation with Belarusian civil society and professionals and incorporate Belarus in the European political and academic community, she noted.
Rybiński obtained his doctorate in economics from the University of Warsaw and served as rector of Kazakh Economic University in Almaty and the Vistula Academy of Finance and Business in Warsaw, Poland. He authored several books and has been writing extensively on economics in press and academic publications.
