One Kalinoŭski regiment’s soldier lightly wounded, no casualties last week
February 6, BPN. The Belarusian Kastuś Kalinoŭski volunteer regiment fighting Russia in Ukraine did not suffer any losses last week, spokeswoman Kryścina Stankievič (call sign Čabor) has told journalists.
Last week, the Litvin battalion’s reconnaissance group successfully carried out a combat mission in the eastern part of the front, she said, adding that one of the soldiers was lightly wounded. “His life is not in danger and he has already returned to the battalion,” she said.
The Vołat battalion is also operating in eastern Ukraine, Stankievič said. Its units are successfully destroying the enemy using automatic grenade launchers, mortars and MILAN anti-tank guided missile systems, she noted.
The regiment’s UAV unit targeted the enemy infantry in the forest, identified its headquarters, corrected fire and took prisoners from the Wagner private military company, she noted.
Belarusian volunteers formed the Kalinoŭski regiment in Ukraine in March 2022, initially as a battalion. Its stated mission is to liberate Belarus by defending Ukraine.
Belarusian investigators opened a criminal case against its members.
In November 2022, Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakoŭ said that authorities identified almost 160 Belarusians fighting in Ukraine.
