KGB blacklists three over “terrorist activity”
February 15, BPN. The Committee for State Security (KGB) has added three people to its register of individuals and entities involved in “terrorist activity,” its website says.
New additions include Aleh Zavadzki and Valancin Dubroŭščyk from the Hrodna region accused of inciting hatred and Siarhiej Hrybovič from Dokšycy, Viciebsk region, convicted of the same offense.
Police arrested Hrybovič in early March 2022 and posted a video of him admitting under duress to his intentions to fight Russia in Ukraine, human rights defenders said.
In late January, the Viciebsk Regional Court sentenced Hrybovič to four and a half years in prison on several criminal charges in addition to inciting hatred, including forming an extremist group and insulting public officials and Alaksandr Łukašenka. The court also fined him 7,000 rubels (over $2,520) and ordered a psychiatric examination.
The KGB’s blacklist has a total of 1,114 names, including 267 Belarusians.
