EX-PRESS.BҮ branded extremist content again
February 20, BPN. The Barysaŭ District Court in the Minsk region has blacklisted EX-PRESS.BY as extremist content for the second time, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported.
The prosecutor filed a corresponding request claiming that the website kept inciting hatred and spreading false information about Belarus.
The information ministry has yet to update the list of extremist content on its website.
EX-PRESS.BY is a local news website for Barysaŭ and Žodzina areas, set up by journalists from the independent newspaper Kurier iz Borisova outlawed back in 2005. It records an average of 100,000 daily visits.
Authorities blocked access to the website for Belarus-based readers in August 2022 after it had been branded extremist content for the first time.
