Ministries announce hike in aviation flights over Minsk citing routine work
February 27, BPN. The Belarusian emergencies ministry and the ministry of energy have notified Minskers about an increase in aviation flights over the capital city.
“The flights will begin on February 28 at 9 a.m. and continue for several days, depending on weather conditions. The event is held annually in order to identify thermal anomalies (damage, flooding, insufficient thermal insulation),” the emergencies ministry said in a press release.
The energy ministry said flights will also be performed at nighttime. “That’s because many pipelines pass through the city’s busy motorways, so it is impossible to detect their thermal anomalies by day,” it said.
Based on the aerial survey data, a repair plan will reportedly be drafted ahead of the 2024 heating season.
