Former Air Force commander appointed to transport ministry

March 27, BPN. Alaksandr Łukašenka has appointed Ihar Hołub, a former commander of the Air/Air Defense Forces, as director of the aviation department at the transport ministry.

Hołub was dismissed as commander in mid-November 2022 after over five years in that post and transferred to the reserve. He publicly announced his readiness to “defend our Motherland” anytime.

Łukašenka has also appointed Juryj Horbič as deputy health minister; Andrej Kartun, as deputy economy minister; and Natalla Vasileŭskaja as deputy minister of antimonopoly regulation and trade.
