Łukašenka meets with governor of Russia’s Kaluga province

April 3, BPN. Belarus’s trade with Russia’s Kaluga region should increase to $1 billion and become fully balanced, Alaksandr Łukašenka has told Vladislav Shapsha, governor of Russia’s Kaluga province currently visiting Minsk.

Belarus could supply passenger, municipal and agricultural vehicles, assist in dairy production, and provide high-quality seeds as well as animal feed, Łukašenka noted.

A Belarusian company will build a dairy farm with pedigree cattle in the Kaluga province, Shapsha wrote in his Telegram channel, stressing that his province’s trade with Belarus rose by 40 percent in 2022.
 
Belarusian developers built over 200,000 square meters of housing in the Kaluga province, as well as kindergartens and schools for 8,000 students, he added.

The province’s agriculture relies on Belarusian equipment for fodder harvesting, he said.

The meeting with Łukašenka focused on potential partnerships in the woodworking and pharmaceutical industries, construction and transport, the governor said.
