Łukašenka says air defenses’ role in Belarus’ security to increase

April 9, BPN. “Recent events around our country” indicate that the role of air defense in “ensuring the protection and security of Belarus” will increase, said Alaksandr Łukašenka, greeting active servicepeople and veterans on the Air Defense Forces Day, April 9.

“Air Defense Forces personnel are on duty 24 hours a day, protecting the air borders of their native Belarus and guarding the citizens’ peaceful labor and rest,” Łukašenka said, as quoted by his press office.

He added that the state is doing “everything possible to ensure that military and air defense units always have the most modern equipment for effective combat missions.”

“Everyone who has had the special honor to serve in the glorious troops is proud of it. It should be so in the future,” Łukašenka stressed. “I am convinced that each of you is ready to fulfill your duty to the country and the people in any situation.”
