April 18, BPN. Belarus’ cargo transportation fell by 32 percent year on year in the first three months of 2023, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said.
Revenue passenger miles rose by 15.5 percent with passenger numbers up by 3.2 percent.
In January, cargo traffic fell by 33 percent. The decline accelerated to 33.6 percent in January-February. It has been falling since 2019, decreasing by over 36 percent in the last four years.
In 2022, Belarus reported the lowest cargo traffic indicators in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) said in February.
