Hałoŭčanka calls for digital sovereignty amid external pressure
April 18, BPN. Belarus needs to be digitally independent, Prime Minister Raman Hałoŭčanka has said.
“Amid the complex geopolitical situation and mounting external pressure, we must surely secure our digital sovereignty, not only the technological independence,” he said at an international telecom and IT fair in Minsk.
Belarus already has “significant results in the development of e-government,” he said, according to a video clip released by the government’s press office.
“There is an e-services portal. Unified systems for remote identification and electronic signing have been created,” he said. “The business license register has been put online. Unmanned vehicle technologies are developing. Robotic systems are being introduced into production.”
The next stage would be to “create digital platforms for industries” and “change business processes,” the Belarusian prime minister said.
