Belarusian, Russian diplomats discuss cooperation with “friendly countries”

April 21, BPN. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandr Grushko and Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Jaŭhien Šastakoŭ held talks on April 21, the Russian foreign ministry said without specifying the place of the meeting.

The senior diplomats discussed “promising areas of Russia’s and Belarus’ cooperation with partners from among friendly countries, particularly in the region of Latin America and in multilateral forums.”

They talked about “greater coordination and mutual support in the international arena” as part of a unified foreign policy. Minsk and Moscow reiterated their determination to counter what they described as the West’s illegitimate and aggressive sanctions and its meddling in their domestic politics.

The Belarusian foreign ministry has not commented on the development so far.
