Belarus-Russia trade up 22 percent in Q1 – PM Hałoŭčanka
May 12, BPN. Trade between Belarus and Russia grew by 22 percent year on year from January to March, Belarusian Prime Minister Raman Hałoŭčanka has said.
Both countries managed to enter a “completely different development trajectory” as they were responding to economic challenges caused by the Western sanctions, the Council of Ministers’ press office quoted him as saying at a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov in Minsk.
In 2022, trade between Belarus and Russia totaled $45 billion, according to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk.
In November 2021, Minsk and Moscow signed 28 Union State programs (roadmaps). Since then, Belarusian and Russian officials regularly present upbeat reports on the successful implementation of these programs.
