Several Kalinoŭski regiment’s soldiers wounded, no casualties last week

May 15, BPN. Several soldiers of the Belarusian Kastuś Kalinoŭski volunteer regiment fighting Russia in Ukraine were wounded last week, spokeswoman Kryścina Stankievič (call sign Čabor) told journalists on May 14.

There were no casualties and the lives of the wounded soldiers are not in danger, she added.

The Kalinoŭski regiment’s Litvin battalion continued operations “in one of the hot spots of the front,” while the Vołat battalion was fighting Russian forces in Bakhmut, Stankievič said.

Last week, the regiment’s representatives also met with Metropolitan Epiphanius, head of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine, as well as political journalist Mark Feygin.

Dźmitryj Ščyhielski, formerly a well-known psychiatrist currently representing the regiment’s political wing, participated in these meetings, the released videos show.

Belarusian volunteers formed the Kastuś Kalinoŭski Regiment in March 2022, initially as a battalion. Its stated mission is to liberate Belarus by defending Ukraine.

Belarusian investigators opened criminal cases against fighters associated with the regiment.

The interior ministry said in March that it had identified almost 200 Belarusians fighting in Ukraine.
