May 16, BPN. The National Statistics Committee has said that Belarus’ industrial production increased 2.3 percent from January to April, as compared to the same period last year.
The report comes amid the government’s claim that the economy has adjusted to sanctions and will enjoy a period of growth.
Industrial production amounted to 58.6 billion rubels ($23.2 billion) in today’s money.
Mining output rose 3 percent, and manufacturing output rose 3.1 percent. Electricity, gas and hot water supplies fell 2.8 percent.
Previously, the Eurasian Economic Union’s statistics service said that Belarus and Russia ranked last among the union members in annual industrial production.
