Belarus seeks higher oil transit tariffs from Russia
June 1, BPN.Belarus’ state-owned oil transport company Homieltransnafta Družba has proposed an 84-percent increase in transit tariffs for Russian oil due to lower volumes amid European sanctions.
The company said that the new tariffs would apply to oil shipments to Poland, Germany and Ukraine. CEO Aleh Barysienka said the proposed tariffs are “competitive” and “lower” than those set by Ukrainian and Kazakh oil transport operators.
The Russian newspaper Kommersant reported that Belarus missed out on revenue from the transit of Russian oil through the northern line of the Druzhba pipeline after Europe imposed sanctions.
