Dollar rises 7 percent in five months at currency exchanges

June 2, BPN. The average cash exchange rate for the US dollar rose 7.11 percent in the first five months of 2023, reaching 2.9132 Belarusian rubels in May, according to an analysis of bank quotes by BPN.

The dollar fluctuated against the rubel throughout the year, dropping 1.69 percent in January before climbing 4.61 percent in February, 1.81 percent in March, 1.48 percent in April and 0.81 percent in May.

The analysis showed that the average buying rate for the dollar increased 0.91 percent in May, while the average selling rate rose 0.72 percent.

The dollar appreciated 5.93 percent against the rubel at currency exchanges in 2022.
