Brest region’s officials to train in setting up territorial troops’ units

June 8, BPN. Officials of the Łuniniec District Executive Committee in the Brest region will train in “forming military units of territorial troops,” the defense ministry’s press office reported.

Reservists will also participate in the drills and practice “performing assigned tasks” corresponding to their military training, it noted.

The drills are taking place from June 8 to 29. They will focus on training officials to deal with territorial troops reservists and provide them with “comprehensive support” using local resources.

Commanders of the district headquarters and territorial troops battalion will refresh their skills in “managing subordinates,” the ministry added.

The drills will also involve “formation, preparation and deployment of a people’s militia unit,” it noted.

A command-staff exercise with the Łuniniec territorial defense forces will conclude the drills.

Territorial troops are an auxiliary part of the Armed Forces called up in times of war or tense military and political situations. They are formed of persons who had military training and are currently in the reserve.
