June 9, BPN. Vladimir Putin’s announcement that Russian tactical nuclear weapons will arrive in Belarus after July 7 drew an immediate backlash from the country’s opposition leader Śviatlana Cichanoŭskaja.
“Putin and his puppet Lukashenka are planning to deploy nuclear weapons in Belarus right before July’s NATO Summit in Vilnius,” she tweeted. “This is nothing but a crude game of intimidation, trying to bully Europe into submission. We can’t let dictators get away with their nuclear blackmail.”
Putin is meeting with Alaksandr Łukašenka at the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi face to face to discuss security.
